The question of what kind of city we want cannot be divorced from that of what kind of social ties, relationship to nature, lifestyles, technologies and aesthetic values we desire. The right to the city is far more than the individual liberty to access urban resources: it is a right to change ourselves by changing the city. It is, moreover, a common rather than an individual right since this transformation inevitably depends upon the exercise of a collective power to reshape the processes of urbanization. The freedom to make and remake our cities and ourselves is, I want to argue, one of the most precious yet most neglected of our human rights.

About Me
I am a recent architectural graduate from the Politecnico di Milano, where I completed a M.Sc. in Architecture, with a focus on sustainability and multi-scale projects. Prior to my studies in Italy I completed my Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of British Columbia. Between my studies I worked at a local, Vancouver architecture office which provided me with a more traditional and technical background.
Through my studies and experience I have developed an interest in performance based architecture and it's potential to overcome the timeless debate of form vs. function. Emerging technologies, ecological thinking and social media are transforming the building process, making it a catalyst for positive change and collective agency. As such the field of architecture generates complex problems and fascinating possibilities which captivate my imagination.
